Handling your first dispute
Dear Copy Mbah Google,

We've noticed that one of your buyers filed a 'dispute' in the Resolution Center. As this may be the first dispute you have encountered, we have compiled a guide to help you through this process. It also includes tips to resolve disputes and what to do if the dispute is escalated to a 'claim'. This happens when a dispute cannot be resolved between buyer and seller and the buyer asks PayPal to decide the case.

Communication is key
It's never pleasant when you experience a problem with a transaction. By using the Resolution Center you can often resolve a dispute before it escalates to a larger problem. Disputed transactions are often the result of simple misunderstandings and can be resolved by communication between the buyer and seller.

Make the most of the Resolution Center
The Resolution Center will help you track, manage and resolve your dispute as quickly as possible. It also gives you an opportunity to:

Resolve this problem directly and amicably with the buyer before it's escalated to a claim
Provide prompt customer service so customers feel comfortable to buy from you again

We hope that this dispute gets resolved quickly.

How do I know this is not a Spoof email? Spoof or 'phishing' emails tend to have generic greetings such as "Dear PayPal member". Emails from PayPal will always address you by your first and last name. Find out more here.
